Job Title: Technician – Transformer Winding Department

Job Summary:
The Technician – Transformer Winding Department is responsible for executing precise winding operations for distribution and power transformers in accordance with quality, safety, and design specifications. The role includes winding of HV and LV coils, tap changers, and related sub-assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform HV and LV winding of transformer coils as per engineering drawings and process standards.
- Ensure correct insulation layering and conductor placement during winding.
- Operate and maintain winding machines, tensioners, and associated tools.
- Monitor and control parameters such as winding tension, dimensions, and interlayer insulation.
- Maintain clean and organized winding stations, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations during the winding process.
- Assist in coil drying, pressing, and other related processes.
- Collaborate with quality control and design teams to resolve technical issues.
- Adhere to company safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain production records and coil winding logs accurately.
Required Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant trade certification.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in transformer winding or coil manufacturing.
- Knowledge of transformer construction, insulation systems, and winding techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and process documentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with winding for various transformer ratings (e.g., 11kV, 33kV).
- Understanding of quality standards (e.g., ISO, IEC).
- Basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
- Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move coils and tools weighing up to [X] kg (as applicable).
